So May 13, 2013 was a very important day for my fellow Filipinos. We get to exercise our right to vote.
I went with my brother, who was in the same precinct as I was. It only took us literally 10 minutes to vote. We had a harder time looking for the school we were voting in harharhar!
Here’s proof! A manicure is in order.
Ok, let me get this over with so I can start with the swatching. 😀 About a month ago I was browsing this online marketplace called Lazada.com… And I was looking for good deals on smart phones. But I got bored and out of curiosity, i browsed the beauty category. And guess what I stumbled upon?
I had a good experience with Lazada. After I placed my order, a customer service representative called to confirm my order. I got the package in 2 days.
So here’s a brief history on Zoya nail polish: Founded by Zoya & Michael Reyzis. Zoya was a classical pianist and husband Michael is a chemist. He created the first working fast drying topcoat and the longest wearing, toxin free natural nail polish, revolutionizing the nail industry. (From zoya.com)
Swatches and reviews to follow soon. 😀
The local Ikea reseller is having a mother’s day sale & their Helmers are on sale for 20% off!
Should I? Or Not?
I only have less than 30 nail polish bottles (and growing), but i could also use the Helmer to store scrapbooking materials & photos.. Thoughts?
Let me know in the comments..
Thank you! 😊
I broke my promise. I haven’t swatched my Tony Moly Polish. But I’m weak. Hence this haul post.
Why not? My brother (who just turned 28) collects Marvel toys, and doesn’t even play with them. My Dad collects art work (investment, he says). I know a lot of people who collect porn, but that’s not the point…
I am bringing this up because some “friends”/girls have been asking me, of all the more “meaningful” things I could blog about, or collect, why nail polish? The world has bigger problems, and I’m talking about nail polish.
Come. On. Seriously?
Is your life so above everyone else’s that everything you do has to have some kind of deeper meaning? The world is fucked up as it is. I don’t have to repeat what every news channel has already talked about.
Collecting nail polish is a hobby. A nerdy, superficial, therapeutic hobby. And it works for me. I don’t know about you. Looking at nail polish storages and stashes(?) makes me smile.
And believe me, if you knew what’s going on in my own life right now, you’d understand. You’d say, “I wonder if she’s taking antidepressants?”. Seriously.
And I blog about that aspect of my life too. But it’s not for everyone’s consumption.
I can also blog about books, since I also collect them, for the info of those who think I’m an airhead. But I cannot even finish a book lately because of my day job. I am also a mom to 2 very young (a 4 y.o. & a 4 mo. old) boys. I don’t even have time for a haircut. I blog before I go to sleep, when my kids are already asleep beside me.
I am a mother, a house manager, and a fund manager, a frustrated photographer & writer, who collects books and nail polish.
So to my blogger friends, why are you collecting nail polish?
Yesterday I went to the grocery to grab some lettuce, coffee, & baby shampoo. But before that, i went to SM department store to check the Tony Moly kiosk to see if they had the Galaxy collection. They only had earth, & when i made the saleslady swatch it, I wasn’t too keen on the glitter overkill. I’m a mom for crying out loud! Glitter seems so teeny bopper for my taste.
So what did I get instead? The shatter polish SN01! And I also got the MK01 which is kind of a neon pink variety.
Forgive me if I didn’t take a swatch of the MK01, i got too excited for the shatter! It felt like highschool chemistry all over again. I don’t know if this is still appropriate for moms hehe! Definitely not a polish to wear for work. But the perfect polish to wear to a Rock concert.
